Katie Rose specializes in all-over, repeat, and seasonal print design across various apparel categories. With an additional background in marketing and branding, her work is both visually compelling and commercially viable. Katie has extensive experience in designing Womenswear for both luxury and fast fashion brands. Her experience extends into Outerwear, Athleisure, Accessories, Childrenswear, and Menswear. She has additional experience in technical design for apparel including pattern making and computer aided design.

Katie Rose is known for finding innovative solutions, as demonstrated by the projects managed by her at Emmelle Design. These included developing product tracking systems for third-party manufactured products with licensed brands and successfully managing the CFDA FMI Manufacturing grant applications in 2023 and 2024, which encourages the re-shoring and development of garment manufacturing in NYC. After receiving the grant, she helped manage factory expansion, renovation and automated machinery installation projects. Her expertise spans product development, materials sourcing, technical design, pattern making, and a deep understanding of garment construction and stitching techniques, making her proficient across the entire apparel design spectrum.

She returned from NYC to Maine in early 2024, where she was excited to reintegrate into the Portland art community. She challenges her practice by participating in competitions and shows including Spain’s BIAAF international design contest and Runway For Hope in Portland, ME.
